Red Wings lose Rafalski for three-to-four weeks Staff

The Detroit Red Wings will be without defenseman Brian Rafalski for three to four weeks.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the 37-year-old underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee on Tuesday.

"They cleaned out some loose particles," general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press.  "He'll be out three to four weeks."

Earlier in the day, the team called up defenseman Doug Janik from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League, and put Kris Draper on the injured reserve.

The Wings host the Colorado Avalanche tonight in a game that can be seen on TSN2 and TSN2 HD at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt.
