TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Lightning assistant coach Wayne Fleming is back at practice less than a week after surgery to remove a brain tumour.
Fleming watched practice from the stands Tuesday. The team says his involvement in the post-season will be based on his level of comfort. His operation was last Thursday.
The Winnipeg native is in his first season with the Lightning. He has been watching videotape to help Tampa Bay prepare for the playoffs.
Tampa Bay will be making its first post-season appearance since 2007 in Game 1 of an Eastern Conference quarterfinal Wednesday night at Pittsburgh.
Fleming has also served as an assistant coach with the New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.
