It appears the number of groups willing to buy the Thrashers and keep them in Atlanta is down to one.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, only one group is currently working on a deal with the Atlanta Spirit but nothing is imminent.
"My job is to try to find a buyer who will keep the team in Atlanta," Waddell told the Journal-Constitution. "As long as they keep taking my phone calls, I'll keep working."
Earlier in May, there were two groups in talks to buy the struggling NHL franchise and keep them in Georgia. Both groups were not local buyers.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue with True North Sports and Entertainment to bring the Thrashers to Winnipeg.
"As has been the case, I cannot comment on who we are talking to or the status of those discussions," Atlanta Spirit co-owner Bruce Levenson told the Journal-Constitution.
