The New York Islanders traded defenceman Bruno Gervais to the Tampa Bay Lightning for future considerations on Saturday.
The 26-year-old just wrapped up his entry level contract this season and will be a restricted free agent July 1. Gervais was originally a sixth round pick of the Islanders in 2003.
He played 53 games for the Isles last season, scoring six assists. In his four-year NHL career, Gervais has nine goals and 59 assists in 331 games.
