The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Pascal Dupuis to a two-year contract worth $3 million.

The deal will count $1.5 million against Pittsburgh's salary cap over the next two seasons.

The 32-year-old forward scored 17 goals and 20 assists in 81 games for the Penguins last season. He stepped up as a leader on the team after injuries forced Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin out of the line-up for extended lengths of time.

The resident of Laval, Quebec is a veteran of 10 NHL seasons. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in 2000 and also played for the New York Rangers and Atlanta Thrashers before being traded to the Penguins near the trade deadline in 2008.

Dupuis has tallied 277 points in 668 NHL contests.
