Blackhawks sign F Stalberg to two-year, $1.75M contract Staff

The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward Viktor Stalberg on a two-year contract.

The deal is worth $1.75 million, with an average cap hit of $875,000 per season.

The 25-year-old Stalberg recorded 12 goals, 12 assists and 43 penalty minutes in 77 regular-season games last season, his first season with the Blackhawks.

Drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, the Maple Leafs traded Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis to the Blackhawks for Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweatt on June 30, 2010.

The Gothenberg, Sweden, native has 21 goals, 17 assists and 73 penalty minutes in 117 career regular-season games over parts of two NHL seasons with the Maple Leafs and Blackhawks.
