The Indianapolis Colts' attempt at reaching the NFL-mandated 53-player roster limit has included waiving defensive end John Chick.
The Colts offered Chick a practice roster spot, but no decision has been made on whether he'll except the offer or wait to see if there's interest from other teams.
Should he returned to Canada, he would become a free agent.
Chick practiced with the Colts last season and was trying to make the team again this year.
The 2009 CFL most outstanding defensive player, Chick had two defensive tackles and an assist and was credited with half of a sack as the Indianapolis Colts won their first pre-season game beating the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday.
