Centre Kyle Turris is expected to make his season debut with the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.

Turris, who came to terms on a two-year deal, $2.8 million with the Coyotes last week, will take his mandatory baseline test after practice on Wednesday and if all goes well, the 22-year-old will be in the lineup when the Coyotes visit the Winnipeg Jets.

Viewers in the Jets region can watch the game live on TSN Jets at 8pm et/7pm ct.

"Kyle is a top young player who will make us a better team," Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said last week. "We look forward to having him in our lineup."

Turris, who was a restricted free agent this summer, asked the Coyotes for a trade in late October after the two sides could not come to terms on a new deal.

At the time, general manager Don Maloney said that Turris would not be moved, and if he didn't sign with the club, he would be sitting out for the year.
