CALGARY -- Kasandra Bradette and Francois Hamelin finished Sunday as the best two skaters after three days of competition and fours individual races at the national short-track team selections in Calgary.
Hamelin of Sainte-Julie, Que., was first 3,222 points after finishing atop the podium in Sunday's 1,000 metres, then seventh in the 3,000 metres.
Bradette of St-Felicien, Que., earned 3,223 points for the top spot. She was first in the 1,000 metres and third in the 3,000 metres.
Remi Beaulieu was second in the men's overall ranking with 2,126 points, and Pier-Olivier Gagnon was third with 1,888. Both skaters are from Montreal.
Jessica Hewitt of Kamloops, B.C., took second place for the women with 2,982 points and Montreal's Sabrina Bourgela was third with 1,844.
The results from this competition will be combined with the Canadian Open Championships in January to assist in determining the top 12 men and 12 women for the 2012-13 national and development short-track teams.
