Blues agree to three-year entry level contract with Tarasenko Staff

The St. Louis Blues' offence got a shot in the arm Saturday by locking down one of the organization's top prospects.

The team has agreed to a three-year entry-level contract with Vladimir Tarasenko.

"Vladi is coming off his best season as a professional and we are excited that he has decided to join our organization," said Blues vice president and general manager Doug Armstrong .  "He has shown significant growth in his years in the KHL and we look forward to him taking his game to the next level as a St. Louis Blue."

Tarasenko was taken by the Blues in the first round (16th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

He produced in the Kontinental Hockey League this season, scoring 23 goals and 24 assists in 54 games split between HC Sibir and SKA St. Petersburg.

Tarasenko was also instrumental in helping Russia capture the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championship gold medal, scoring four goals and seven assists in seven games.
