STOUFFVILLE, Ont. -- Victoria's Jim Rutledge fired a second straight 7-under 65 at Emerald Hills Golf Club on Thursday and extended his lead at the PGA Seniors' Championship of Canada.

Rutledge is 14 under for the tournament, 10 shots ahead of Montreal's Daniel Talbot. His 7-under matched the competitive course record he set Wednesday.

Rutledge's impressive bogey-free second round saw him claim seven birdies, including a stretch of four over five holes on the back nine.

"I'm happy with the back nine," the Champions Tour regular said. "I missed a couple greens at Nos. 10 and 11 but managed to get up and down for par but after that -- it was a good round of golf."

Yvan Beauchemin of Louisville, Que., and Norm Jarvis of Prince Albert, Sask., are tied for third at 3 under, while David Wettlaufer of Kitchener, Ont., and Serge Thivierge of St. Eustache, Que., are tied for fifth at 2 under.
