WHITBY, Ont. -- Rob Hellyer made sure the Orangeville Northmen kept their undefeated Minto Cup record intact Sunday, scoring the overtime winner in a come-from-behind 8-7 win over the Whitby Warriors.

The Northmen (2-0) led 7-5 after two periods, but the Warriors (1-1) found goals from Reilly O'Connor and Zack Palmer to extend the game. Hellyer scored the winner 10 minutes into the extra frame.

Jeremy Noble and Mitchell Jones both had four points for the Northmen while Palmer led the Warriors with four points.

The Northmen, coming off a 9-5 win over the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday, sit atop the group, while the Warriors, 11-3 winner over the Calgary Mountaineers on Saturday, are tied for second.

Earlier Sunday, the Coquitlam Adanacs crushed the Calgary Mountaineers 12-2 to join the Warriors in second spot.

Ben McIntosh put up three goals and five assists for Coquitlam, with Matthew Dinsdale and Jean-Luc Chetner also adding hat tricks. Ian Buchanan and Jake Archdekin scored for Calgary.

The teams close out round robin play on Tuesday, when the Mountaineers play the Northmen and the Adanacs take on the Warriors.
