JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- South Africa prop Coenie Oosthuizen was cleared of a nagging neck problem by a neurosurgeon on Tuesday and can play against world champion New Zealand this weekend in the final round of the Rugby Championship.

Oosthuizen hurts his neck in the series against England in June and has been troubled ever since, most recently being forced to withdraw from the Springboks' 22-player squad for the game against Australia last weekend.

South Africa team doctor Craig Roberts says the specialist in Durban is happy with Oosthuizen's progress and declared him fit to face the southern hemisphere tournament winner in Soweto on Saturday.

Boks coach Heyneke Meyer will announce his 22 to face the top-ranked All Blacks, who have won 15 consecutive games, on Wednesday.
