OTTAWA - Joshua Leivo scored three times, including the go-ahead goal as the Sudbury Wolves held off the Ottawa 67's 6-4 Sunday afternoon in the Ontario Hockey League.
The Wolves took a 4-1 lead three minutes into the second period but allowed the 67's to draw even seven minutes into the third period.
Leivo completed his hat trick a little more than two minutes after Steven Janes had tied the game for the 67's (1-5-1).
Michael Kantor scored a short-handed empty-net goal at 19:32 to secure the win for the Wolves (5-3-0), who have now won three straight.
Samuel Schutt and Matthew Campagna also scored for the Wolves while Joel Vienneau made 30 saves for the win. The Wolves outshot the 67's 36-34 and were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
The 67's scored once on five power plays as Cody Ceci had the lone special team's goal. Tyler Graovac and Taylor Fielding each had a goal and an assist in a losing effort.
Campagna and Schutt gave the Wolves a 2-0 lead by the midway point of the first period before Ceci got the 67's on the board before the end of the period.
The Wolves led 3-2 after two periods.
