WHL: Rattie's five points lead Winterhawks over Broncos

Ty Rattie scored four goals and assisted on another to lift the Portland Winterhawks to a 6-3 win over the host Swift Current Broncos on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Rattie now has seven goals and 12 points over his last 10 games.

Nicolas Petan had a goal and two assists for the Winterhawks (7-3-1), while Chase De Leo, Taylor Leier and Derrick Pouliot chipped in with two assists each.

Portland also had a goal from Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Adam Lowry had two goals and an assist for the Broncos (4-2-4) and now has a team-leading 15 points in 10 games.

Coda Gordon had a goal and two assists to round out Swift Current's offence.

Brendan Burke made 28 saves for the win as Landon Bow took the loss in goal, giving up six goals on 33 shots.

Portland went 3-for-4 on the power play while Swift Current went 1-for-4.

Elsewhere in the WHL, it was: Tri-City 4, Brandon 3; Calgary 4, Red Deer 2; Saskatoon 5, Lethbridge 2; Moose Jaw 9, Prince Albert 0; Regina 4, Everett 3; Medicine Hat 7, Prince George 2; Spokane 5, Vancouver 2 and Victoria 3, Kelowna 2.

At Swift Current, Sask., Lowry opened the scoring with a power-play goal 2:17 into the first period, but Portland stormed back with three straight goals to make it 3-1 after 20 minutes of play.

Bjorkstrand got the offence going for the Winterhawks at 8:01 and Rattie and Petan each followed with a power-play goal.

Lowry made it a one-goal game at 13:54 of the second period, however Rattie responded to make it 4-2 heading into the final period.

Gordon made it 4-3 at 4:17 of the third period, but Rattie added two more goals, including his fourth goal of the game by way of the power play.

At Calgary, Cody Sylvester scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and goaltender Mack Shields picked up his first WHL victory as the Hitmen (5-0-2) downed Red Deer (5-5-1).

At Lethbridge, Alta., Brett Stovin scored three times as Saskatoon (3-7-0) ended its five-game losing streak by defeating the Hurricanes (3-6-0).

At Moose Jaw, Sask., Sam Fioretti had three goals and two assists, Morgan Rielly had five assists and Daniel Wapple stopped 32 shots as the Warriors (4-3-1) crushed Prince Albert (7-2-1).

At Regina, Chandler Stephenson and Dyson Stevenson scored 1:16 apart in the third period as the Pats (5-5-1) came from behind to beat Everett (2-6-1).

At Medicine Hat, Alta., Jayden Hart scored twice and Boston Leier chipped in with four assists as the Tigers (4-5-1) crushed Prince George (5-3-1).

At Spokane,Wash., Collin Valcourt scored three times and Eric Williams made 22 saves as the Chiefs (6-2-0) handed Vancouver (2-7-0) its third loss in a row.
