Sam Bennett knew the Kingston Frontenacs luck had to change.
He scored two goals and added an assist as the Kingston Frontenacs doubled the Brampton Battalion 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League play Friday.
Spencer Watson also scored twice, while Darcy Greenaway and Cody Alcock had singles and Roland McKeown added three assists for the Frontenacs (7-8-0).
"It's good because we were just on a really bad losing streak, and now we turned everything around," said Bennett. "We're going good now."
Brandon Robinson, Nick Paul and Brendan Childerley had a goal apiece for the Battalion (5-7-5), which dropped their fourth straight game.
Both teams traded goals in the first period until Paul's goal in the final minute gave the Battalion a 3-2 lead.
But Kingston exploded with four unanswered goals in the second and goaltender Mike Morrison shut the door in the third.
"I just felt (the biggest problem) was our lack of ability to compete," said Brampton head coach Stan Butler.
"The Kingston team outworked us and they just kept coming harder and harder and our guys instead of responding backed off and that's why the game was 6-3."
Morrison finished with 20 saves, 10 of which came in the third as he bailed out a Frontenacs offence that went cold in the final period with just two shots.
Battalion goalie Matej Machovsky was chased from net after allowing six goals on 22 shots. His replacement, Jake Smith, stopped all four shots he faced.
