Will Lions look to keep Elimimian this off-season?

The Rouge takes a look at each team and poses their biggest question heading into the off-season. Today, the BC Lions.

Solomon Elimimian returned midway through the year last season; Adam Bighill already established – and thriving – in the lineup at Elimimian's old middle linebacker spot. Injuries didn't help, but a plan to get both players in the lineup, and effective, never quite formulated.

Now, however, with a full off-season to scheme, the Lions could conceivably devise a strategy to keep two of the top defensive players in the league, and allow for each of them to make an impact for BC.

Conversely, GM Wally Buono and head coach Mike Benevides could allow Elimimian, a free agent, to walk, sastified with the prospect of Bighill once again patrolling the middle of their defence.

The question of course, could be moot. There are reports Elimimian wants to take another shot in the NFL, and if he does, unlike last year he would be free to sign with the CFL team of his choosing should he return.

With the Lions in the early stages of off-season preparations, will Buono give Elimimian a call and see if the team can fit both he and Bighill into their defensive plans, in the name of keeping as much top talent as possible? Or will the Lions let the intimidating MLB walk, either to the NFL or another CFL team?

The Rouge asks: Should the Lions try to keep Elimimian for next season and beyond?

As always, it's Your! Call.
