Russia's forward Maxim Shalunov has been suspended for one game at the World Junior Hockey Championship for a cross-checking incident in Wednesday's game against Slovakia.
In the third period, Shalunov delivered a cross-check to the face of Slovakia's defenceman Tomas Nechala, who suffered a laceration.
Shalunov, who was assessed a double-minor on the play, will miss the game against the USA on Friday.
