HAMILTON, Ont. -- David Leggio stopped 34 shots as the Rochester Americans shut out the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-0 in American Hockey League action Monday.
Evan Rankin and Mark Mancari scored for Rochester (16-12-3), which sent Hamilton to its second straight shutout defeat.
Cedrick Desjardins stopped 24 shots for Hamilton (11-17-3)
The Americans opened the scoring at 6:33 of the first period on a power-play goal by Rankin. Brian Flynn brought the puck in on the left side and feathered a pass to Rankin in the slot who tapped the puck by Desjardins.
Rochester made it 2-0 at 11:15 of the second period as Mancari skated down the boards on the right side and took a shot from a sharp angle which squeaked over the shoulder of Desjardins and into the back of the net.
