Report: Commodore to be invited to Habs' training camp Staff

TSN's sister station in Quebec RDS reports that Hamilton Bulldogs defenceman Mike Commodore will be among the players invited to training camp by the Montreal Canadiens.

Commodore has played 13 games with the Canadiens' American Hockey League affiliate this season after signing a minor-league contract in November.

Commodore, 33, has spent parts of 11 seasons in the National Hockey League with the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning. 

In 484 regular season games, Commodore has registered 106 points (23 goals, 83 assists) and 683 penalty minutes. 

The 6'4", 225-pound defenceman has also played 53 post-season games, notching eight points (two goals, 6 assists) and 70 penalty minutes. In 2004, Commodore was a member of the Calgary Flames' Western Conference Championship team that fell in seven games to the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final. 

In 2006, he helped the Carolina Hurricanes capture the Stanley Cup by defeating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games.
