BAD GASTEIN, Austria -- Slovenian snowboarder Zan Kosir won a men's parallel slalom Saturday, the final World Cup event before the snowboard world championships.
Kosir defeated Roland Fischnaller of Italy in the final for his first career victory. Fischnaller also finished runner-up in Friday's night event on the same course.
Aaron March of Italy beat Vic Wild of Russia for third place. Andreas Prommegger of Austria retained his lead in the World Cup standings with 2,160 points, 60 clear of Fischnaller.
Matthew Morison of Burketon, Ont., and Steve Barlow of Courtice, Ont., led the Canadian contingent, finishing 27th and 28th respectively. Morison earned 45.00 points for his performance, while Barlow took 40.00
Patrizia Kummer of Switzerland earned her seventh career victory by beating Julia Dujmovits of Austria in the final of the women's event.
Svetlana Boldylova defeated Russian teammate Alena Zavarzina to take third.
Montreal's Caroline Calve was the top Canadian, finishing ninth with 290 points.
Dujmovits went top of the standings with 1,540 points, followed by Kummer with 1,420.
The world championships take place in Stoneham, Que., from Jan. 17-27.
