NORFOLK, Va. -- Josh Brittain scored in regulation and added the only goal of the shootout Friday as the St. John's IceCaps defeated the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 in the American Hockey League.
Emerson Etem had the other goal for Norfolk (15-19-3), which got 20 saves from Viktor Fasth.
Eric O'Dell and Richard Petiot replied in regulation for St. John's (16-20-3). Eddie Pasquale stopped 32 shots in taking the loss, while Raymond Sawada added two assists.
St. John's jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the first period with power-play goals just over four minutes apart.
But Brittain started the Norfolk rally with an even-strength goal at 9:01 of the second before Etem tied the score on the power play at 4:56 of the third.
St. John's went 2-for-5 with the man advantage, while Norfolk scored once on five chances.
