ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Rick Schofield scored the winning goal and added an assist as the Rochester Americans beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-3 in American Hockey League action Monday afternoon.
Schofield's winner came at 1:47 of the second period, just 1:23 after Joey Tenute's goal erased a 3-0 Rochester lead.
Kevin Porter also had a goal and an assist for Rochester (21-15-3), while Kevin Sundher, Frederick Roy, Evan Rankin and Brian Flynn had the other goals. Mark Mancari added two assists.
Louis Leblanc and Zack Stortini also scored for the Bulldogs (13-21-6).
Rochester surged to a 2-0 lead before the game was a minute old. Sundher scored 13 seconds in, while Porter made it 2-0 at the 53-second mark of the first.
Roy put Rochester up 3-0 at 5:45 of the period before Leblanc got Hamilton on the board with a power-play goal at 8:15.
Stortini made it 3-2 at 16:25 of the first, then Tenute tied the game 24 seconds into the second period.
Hamilton's momentum was almost immediately killed by Schofield's goal, then Rankin scored at 8:42 of the second period and Flynn put the game away with a power-play goal in the third.
David Leggio made 21 saves for Rochester.
Robert Mayer stopped 28 shots for Hamilton.
