The Toronto Raptors appear to be looking very closely at a big-time move.

ESPN is reporting that their sources indicate the Raptors are engaged in active trade discussions with the Memphis Grizzlies and that the prime target in those discussions from the Raptors' standpoint is small forward Rudy Gay.

The report clarified that the framework of a deal has not been established as of yet, but that the Raptors' offer could be built around point guard Jose Calderon and 23-year-old power forward Ed Davis.

Darrell Arthur is also on Toronto's radar as per the report.

The Grizzlies cleared a lot of cash and luxury tax obligations off their slate last week by completing a three-for-one deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That deal - which sent Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington, Josh Selby and a future first-round draft pick to Cleveland in exchange for forward Jon Leuer – cleared about $6 million in salary off Memphis' books and got them under this season's luxury tax bar.

Grizzlies CEO Jason Levien told local reporters that the team could be done dealing after the Cleveland trade.

However, according to ESPN, that stance has not stopped the Raptors from making calls in an effort to acquire the 26-year-old Gay.
