Roughnecks dominate NLL weekly honours

The Calgary Roughnecks dominated Player of the Week honours in the National Lacrosse League on Wednesday.

After two convincing wins on the road, the Roughnecks had three players, Shawn Evans, Geoff Snider and Mike Poulin, win the weekly award at their respective positions, while the Minnesota Swarm's Kiel Matisz won Rookie of the Week.

Evans earned offensive honours after recording 13 points and five loose balls in Calgary's 19-12 win at Colorado on Friday and six points and seven loose balls in Calgary's 16-8 win at Philadelphia on Sunday.

Snider earned the transition award for recording three points, 15 loose balls, and went 23-for-29 (79%) on faceoffs in Calgary's 19-12 win at Colorado on Friday and four points, 13 loose balls, and went 20-for-26 (77%) on faceoffs in Calgary's 16-8 win at Philadelphia on Sunday.

Goaltender Poulin earned defensive honours after making 38 saves on 50 shots in Calgary's 19-12 win at Colorado on Friday and made 42 saves on 50 shots in Calgary's 16-8 win at Philadelphia on Sunday.

Rookie Matisz recorded five points and eight loose balls in Minnesota's 13-12 loss at Toronto on Friday and five points and five loose balls in Minnesota's 15-14 win vs. Washington on Saturday.
