ROME -- Italy captain Sergio Parisse is free to play in the final two rounds of the Six Nations after having his suspension for insulting a referee reduced on appeal.

Parisse was due to miss the rest of the tournament after being hit with a 30-day ban following his sending-off in a French league match. He missed the loss to Wales in Rome.

Italy manager Luigi Troiani says on Wednesday the suspension has been trimmed to 20 days, making him available from Saturday. The Azzurri plays England on Sunday and Ireland on March 17.

Troiani says "Sergio is a key member of this group and we are of course happy to make him available for coach (Jacques) Brunel."

Italy is fifth in the table after three rounds of the Six Nations.
