TORONTO -- Canadian welterweight Jordan (Young Gun) Mein is stepping in for Dan (The Outlaw) Hardy and will face Mike (The Immortal) Brown UFC on FOX 7 on April 20 in San Jose.

The 23-year-old from Lethbridge, Alta., is coming off an impressive win over veteran Dan Miller at UFC 158 in Montreal. Mein (27-8-0) knocked Miller out in the first round.

The 32-year-old Brown (18-11) has won four straight, dispatching Mike (Quick) Swick most recently.

Hardy was not cleared by the California commission, which said the English fighter had a heart irregularity which has been diagnosed as Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.

Hardy's manager told addictedmma.com that the fighter has never suffered from the issue and subsequent tests showed no signs of it.

"Sadly the commission will not clear him for the fight with Brown so the UFC were forced to draft in Jordan Mein as a replacement for Dan," said Wad Alameddine.

The main event at the HP Pavilion sees UFC lightweight champion Benson (Smooth) Henderson against former Strikeforce title-holder Gilbert Melendez.
