Munz: Jets vs. Hurricanes Game Day Report

The 17-14-2 Winnipeg Jets are in Raleigh, North Carolina for a 6pm ct start tonight against the 15-13-2 Carolina Hurricanes.
 
The Jets lead the Hurricanes by four points for first place in the Southeast Division standings, however Carolina does have three games in hand. 
 
Ondrej Pavelec will start his 11th consecutive game in goal.  Defenceman Dustin Byfuglien is on a 2 game goal scoring streak.

Up from AHL Charlotte, Justin Peters will start in goal for Carolina due to injuries to Cam Ward and Dan Ellis.  John Muse has also been recalled from Charlotte and will back up Peters.
 
Chad LaRose returns to action after missing the last 10 games due to injury.  The Hurricanes placed Jussi Jokinen and Tim Wallace on waivers today.

In the only prior meeting of the season between these two teams, Andrew Ladd had a goal and two assists as the Jets were 4-3 winners on February 21.  It was in that pregame skate, when Zach Redmond was injured.
 
Following tonight's game the Jets travel to Pittsburgh and play the Penguins Thursday (6pm ct on TSN 1290 / TSN Jets).
