The Edmonton Oilers say winger Lennart Petrell has a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss a minimum of one week.
Oilers head coach Ralph Krueger announced the news on Wednesday after the team practiced in Edmonton.
Petrell has three goals and six assists in 35 games this season. He was hurt during the Oilers' 5-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.
Petrell missed four games in February with a head injury. The 29-year-old Helsinki native has seven goals and 11 assists in 95 career NHL games.
