Canadiens' Galchenyuk joins Team USA for hockey worlds

Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk has decided to join Team USA for the World Hockey Championship in Helsinki and Stockholm.

The Canadiens were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs by the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.

The Milwaukee native scored nine goals and added 18 assists for 27 points in his rookie campaign. He added one goal and two assists in five playoff games.

He joins a USA team that is battling with Finland for top spot in the Helsinki Group. They have two games remaining in the preliminary round - Sunday against Germany and Tuesday vs. Slovakia.
