After a hard fought Alberta showdown, Raymond, Alta. was named the sixth winning community in this summer's Kraft Celebration Tour.  As part of the Kraft Celebration Tour, the Town of Raymond receives $25,000 to put towards creating a new multipurpose field to support soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, and more.

Raymond will also host a special edition of SPORTSCENTRE featuring anchors Darren Dutchyshen and Jennifer Hedger when they broadcast live from the Alberta community on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. ET on TSN.

"The nomination from the Town of Raymond is a great example of what the spirit of the Kraft Celebration Tour is all about," said Jack Hewitt, Vice-President, Marketing Insights and Services, Kraft Canada. "This community is driven to work together to enable healthy, active lifestyles and this project will do exactly that."

About Raymond, Alta.

Located just south of Lethbridge and on the edge of Alberta's badlands, the Town of Raymond is home to 4,000 people. The farming community is also the hometown of CFL players and brothers Brett and Brock Ralph. The town's annual stampede, which started in 1902, is said to be the oldest stampede in Canada.

The $25,000 prize money from the Kraft Celebration Tour will go towards creating a new multipurpose field in Raymond that will host a variety of sports. The town's current field is being relocated from school grounds to accommodate a growing number of students.

Raymond was named to the Kraft Celebration Tour after winning a national, head-to-head online vote over Vulcan, Alta. Raymond brought home the victory with 141,108 votes, while Vulcan amassed a total of 94,406 votes in support of its nomination.
