Winnipeg Goldeyes right-handed pitcher Matt Rusch was named the American Association 's Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Rusch went 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA in two starts last week, including a complete-game 7-0 shutout of the St. Paul Saints on Wednesday. He's the first member of the Goldeyes to receive a pitcher or batter of the week nod this season.
On the season, the 30-year-old is 7-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 21 starts, which is one start away from tying the franchise record for most starts in a season.
The Goldeyes begin a seven-game homestand tomorrow night with the first of four games against the St. Paul Saints. It is Winnipeg's final homestand of the season.
