The Toronto Maple Leafs placed defenceman Mark Fraser on injured reserve on Thursday.

Fraser twisted his knee in the team's game against Philadelphia on Wednesday. It is unclear how long he will be out.

With Fraser sidelined, it is likely that Morgan Rielly will make his NHL debut on Saturday when the Leafs play the Senators. Rielly was the team's 5th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Fraser had seven hits and racked up 16 penalty minutes in the Leafs' first two games before being injured against the Flyers on a hit from Jay Rosehill.
