The Montreal Canadiens are looking to turn their recent fortunes around and may get some help this weekend with a possible return of two injured players.

Defenceman Alexei Emelin, who is recovering from knee surgery, says he plans to make his return to the lineup on Saturday at home against the New York Rangers.

Emelin said he will also travel with the team to Columbus for Montreal's game on Friday night. It would be Emelin's first action since Apr. 6 when he tore knee ligaments in a game against the Boston Bruins.

Brandon Prust, who is recovering from a shoulder injury, will also travel to Columbus to get checked by team doctors on Friday and hopes for a green light to return Saturday.

The Canadiens said that Peter Budaj will start in goal against Columbus, while Carey Price will get the call against the Rangers.

Montreal has lost five of six games, including a 2-1 shootout loss on Tuesday at home to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

At 9-8-2, the Habs have 20 points and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference.
