Manchester United has locked up a key piece, agreeing to a new contract with midfielder Michael Carrick.
The deal, as reported by the Daily Mail, will reportedly be announced by the end of the week.
The extension will see the England midfielder stick with United for two-and-a-half years, with an option for an additional year.
The deal is not believed to include a pay increase from his current £3.5 million ($5.88 million CAD).
Carrick is currently out with an Achilles injury, that could sideline him for much of the remainder of the calendar year.
