Joffrey Lupul is headed to injured reserve.
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the move on Thursday.
The 30-year-old forward is currently out of action with a grade-two groin strain which he incurred in Monday night's 6-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. League rules state that a player placed on IR must sit out for a minimum of seven days, but coach Randy Carlyle said on Wednesday that he expected the forward to be out for two weeks.
In 22 games this season, Lupul has eight goals and seven assists.
The Leafs are next in action on Friday night in Buffalo to take on the Sabres.
