The National Hockey League has released its mid-term ranking for the 2014 NHL Draft, and the top spot isn't occupied by Sam Reinhart or Aaron Ekblad.

Centre Samuel Bennett of the Ontario Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs leads the pack among North American skaters, with 26 goals and 66 points this season.

Ekblad and Reinhart, who represented Canada at the 2014 world junior hockey championship, are ranked third and fourth respectively, behind German-born Leon Draisaitl of the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders.

Bennett has 44 goals and 106 points over two seasons in the OHL. Rounding out the Top 5 is Oshawa Generals forward Michael Dal Colle.

Kasperi Kapanen and William Nylander are the top-ranked skaters among European players, while Boston College's Tatcher Demko is the No. 1-rated goaltender in North America.

The 2014 NHL Draft will be held in Philadelphia on June 27 and June 28.
