Munz: Jets look to continue move up standings versus Canes

The Winnipeg Jets continue a four game road trip in Raleigh tonight against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The (27-25-5) Jets are seventh in the Central Division with 59 points.  Dallas and Nashville also have 59 points, the Stars have two games in hand on the Jets and Predators.

With Sunday's 2-1 win in Montreal, the Jets trail Vancouver by four points for a Western Conference wild card playoff spot.

Ondrej Pavelec (17-21-4, 2.99, .900) will start in goal.

The (25-20-9) Hurricanes are fifth in the Metropolitan Division with 59 points. They trail Detroit by three points for an Eastern Conference wild card playoff spot.

Carolina has a 5-1 record in their past six games, coming off a 3-1 win at home over St. Louis on Friday.

Anton Khudobin (12-4, 2.16, .927) will start in goal.  He has played in 14 straight games and yesterday was named the NHL's First Star for the month of January.
