According to Arthur Staple of Newsday, Snow offered his disappointment about the knee injury that sidelined his best player for the remainder of the season.
"Are the IIHF or IOC going to reimburse our season ticket holders now? It's a joke. They want all the benefits from NHL players in the Olympics and don't want to pay when our best player gets hurt," Snow said.
Tavares suffered an MCL and meniscus tear in his left knee when he was checked by Latvia's Arturs Kulda during Canada's quarterfinal victory on Wednesday.
The Islanders are 14th in the Eastern Conference and 12 points out of a wild card playoff spot with 22 games to play.
"It wouldn't matter if we were 10 points up on a playoff spot or 10 points out," added Snow. "We lost our best player and he wasn't playing for us."
