Captain Doyle scores in OT as Rock edge Swarm

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Captain Colin Doyle scored in overtime as the Toronto Rock edged the Minnesota Swarm 9-8 on Sunday in National Lacrosse League action.

Doyle had a hat trick and added three assists for Toronto (5-7). Garrett Billings had three goals, while Josh Sanderson, Kasey Beirnes and Damon Edwards added singles. Goalie Nick Rose made 50 saves for the win.

Kiel Matisz had a pair of goals for the Swarm (2-9), who reeled off four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Callum Crawford, Tyler Hass and Scott Jones also scored in that rally. Logan Schuss, Andrew Suitor and Jeff Gilbert all scored for Minnesota in the second quarter.

Tyler Carlson made 32 saves on 38 shots for the Swarm in 67:36 of work, while Zach Higgins allowed three goals on six shots in seven minutes of play.
