The struggling Ottawa Senators continue their road in St. Louis to take on the Blues at Scottrade Center tonight.

Viewers in the Senators region can watch the game on TSN5 at 7:30pm et/8:30pm at, and listen to it on TSN Radio 1200.

The Senators' recent woes continued Monday in a 4-3 loss at Detroit, their sixth defeat in eight games. Kyle Turris gave the Senators (9-7-4) an early 1-0 lead before the Red Wings scored four consecutive goals and put the game out of reach.

Erik Karlsson scored early in the third period and Chris Neil cut the deficit to one with 35 seconds to go.

"They schedule it for 60 minutes and you have to play all three periods," coach Paul MacLean said. "We said 'lets go out and win the third period'. See if we can come into the third period and create some momentum going into (Tuesday) night's game and we did that."

Craig Anderson finished with 39 saves, dropping to 1-2-2 with a 3.11 goals-against average over a five-start stretch. He owns a 2.84 GAA on the road, more than a goal higher than his home mark of 1.75.

"They capitalized with some loose pucks in front," Anderson said. "They got lucky. ... All three goals in the second period were off the posts. I've got to do better than that with the rebounds."

Anderson, who took a backseat to Robin Lehner on Saturday, is 4-2-0 against the Blues despite a 3.29 GAA. Lehner is 2-1-0 with a 2.86 GAA in the series after stopping 30 shots Saturday.

The Blues got by Ottawa 3-2 on Saturday before closing a 2-2 road trip with a 4-2 win at Winnipeg the following day. Alex Pietrangelo and Alexander Steen each had two assists while Jake Allen made 28 saves.

"Two huge wins after two tough losses at the start of the trip," Allen told the league's official website. "To be able to be back winning and head home was crucial for us."

David Backes, Ryan Reaves, Jaden Schwartz, Paul Stastny all scored as St. Louis went 2 for 5 on the power play. Schwartz is second on the team with 21 points, 13 of which have come in the last 10 games.

"We're just playing a really good team game, a sound team game," Steen said. "A lot of us benefit from other lines pushing teams back and getting matchups."

It was Steen, Vladimir Tarasenko and Maxim Lapierre who provided the offense against the Senators. Brian Elliott made 24 saves against his former team as the Blues outshot Ottawa 25-14 over the final two periods.

St. Louis is 3-0-2 in the series since 2010-11.

"They're making hockey plays and we're not," Senators forward Clarke MacArthur afterward. "We're not making good passes. They're going tape-to-tape and moving it, and we weren't, so it's tough to get momentum."

Elliott is 2-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA against Ottawa. He is 7-2-0 with a 1.97 GAA over his last nine games overall. He will start in goal tonight for St. Louis.

The Blues lead the league with 2.0 goals allowed per game. They've gone a Western Conference-best 12-3-0 since Oct. 25.

Blues defenseman Jay Bouwmeester is uncertain to be available after sitting out Sunday with a lower-body injury suffered the day before. The 12-year veteran had played in 737 consecutive games, the fifth-longest streak in NHL history.
