The Los Angeles Kings will have to make their playoff push without the services of Marian Gaborik.

Kings coach Darryl Sutter told the Los Angeles Times via email the team will "hope to get him back for the playoffs" after he suffered a lower-body injury last week.

Gaborik was injured in the Kings' 5-4 win over the New York Rangers on Feb. 12 thanks to a knee-on-knee collision. The team placed the star forward on injured reserve one day later.

The 34-year-old scored 12 goals and tallied 10 assists in 54 games this season. A veteran of 933 NHL games, Gaborik owns 386 career goals and 773 points.

The Kings currently sit first in the Pacific Division with 69 points.
