With some players still making their way over the Atlantic for the upcoming World Hockey Championship, Team Canada took to the ice for the first time in Prague on Saturday.

Head coach Bill Peters led practice as the team prepares for the tournament that starts Friday in Russia.

Connor McDavid skated on a line with Matt Duchene and Brad Marchand, who left practice early with a possible injury.

Derick Brassard centred another line with Taylor Hall and Sam Reinhart while Ryan O'Reilly played alongside Brendan Gallagher and Boone Jenner.

Mark Stone and Mark Scheifele were the extra forwards as the team awaits the arrival of Corey Perry and Max Domi.

Former Edmonton Oilers draft pick Curtis Hamilton, who plays in Prague, is filling in at practice until Perry and Domi arrive.

The defence corps is made up of Cody Ceci, Matt Dumba, Ben Hutton, Ryan Murray, Morgan Rielly and Chris Tanev.

Cam Talbot and Calvin Pickard are the goaltenders.
