's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands (Sports Network) - Former runner-up Elena Dementieva was among Wednesday's second-round winners at the Ordina Open, a final tune-up for Wimbledon.
The top-seeded Dementieva handled Italian Sara Errani 6-3, 7-5 on the grass courts at Autotron Rosmalen. The two-time Grand Slam runner-up Dementieva reached the final here in back in 2002.
Dementieva's quarterfinal opponent on Thursday will be Romanian wild card Sorana Cirstea, a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 winner against Ukrainian Mariya Koryttseva.
Seventh-seeded Slovenian Katarina Srebotnik moved on by besting lucky-loser Yung-Jan Chan of Taipei 6-4, 6-3. Up next for Srebotnik will be red-hot third- seeded Russian Dinara Safina, this month's French Open runner-up and winner of 14 of her last 15 matches, including a title in Berlin last month.
In other second-round play, The Netherlands' own Michaella Krajicek pasted Indian Sania Mirza 6-2, 6-2 and Thai qualifier Tamarine Tanasugarn overcame American Ashley Harkleroad 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The other quarterfinals will pit second-seeded and defending Ordina titlist Anna Chakvetadze against eighth-seeded Ukrainian Alona Bondarenko and Krajicek versus Tanasugarn. The Russian Chakvetadze upset Serbian Jelena Jankovic in last year's finale here.
