VANCOUVER - Stephanie Dubois became the first Canadian to win the Odlum Brown VanOpen women's singles tennis title after a three-set win over top-seed Sania Mirza on Sunday.

Dubois, the No. 2 seed, beat Mirza 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The Laval, Que., native, ranked 129th in the world, took home US$11,400.

Dubois was a finalist at the VanOpen in 2007, when she lost to Britain's Anne Keothavong.

In the men's final, third seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus defeated Belgium's Xavier Malisse 6-4, 6-4 in a battle of former world top-20 players.

In the men's doubles final, Rik De Voest and Kevin Anderson of South Africa defeated Ramon Delgado of Paraguay and Kaes Van't Hof of the United States 6-4, 6-4.
