TORONTO -- Former Tennis Canada board chairman Harold P. Milavsky will be inducted into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame on Dec. 3.
Milavsky, the current chairman of Quantico Capital Corp., will be inducted in the builder's category during a dinner in his honour at Calgary's Glencoe Club, Tennis Canada said in a release Thursday.
"As former chairman of the board and a passionate driver of Canadian Davis Cup, Harold is a most deserving inductee into the Canadian Tennis Hall of Fame," said Tennis Canada board chairman Tony Eames.
"His unwavering passion and leadership for Davis Cup competition has made Calgary the most successful Canadian city to host Davis Cup."
Milavsky, 78, spent 11 years with Tennis Canada and was appointed honorary Davis Cup chairman for Canada in 2007.
"I'm very much looking forward to being a part of this special tribute to Harold, who is a deserving inductee into the Hall of Fame," said Canadian doubles star Daniel Nestor.
The five-time Grand Slam winner will participate in a tennis exhibition before the reception.
"Harold has been a big part of our Davis Cup team and it's time we say thank you for his outstanding contribution," Nestor said.
