BANGKOK, Thailand -- Philipp Petzschner advanced to the second round of the Thailand Open by beating Peerakiat Siriluethaiwattana of Thailand 6-1, 6-2 Monday.
The 107th-ranked Petzschner, who last played in Bangkok in 2009, took less than an hour to win the only singles match of the day.
The four highest seeded players -- Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia, Richard Gasquet of France, Milos Raonic of Canada and Gilles Simon of France -- received byes in the first round.
