The Hamilton Tiger-Cats made a number of significant additions to their roster Monday, acquiring Justin Capicciotti and Xavier Fulton from the Saskatchewan Roughriders and signing Keon Raymond, among others, to their practice roster.

In exchange for Capicciotti and Fulton, the Ticats are sending national defensive tackle and former first overall draft pick Linden Gaydosh, international receiver Tommy Streeter, and fourth and seventh round draft picks (2017) to the Roughriders.

Hamilton also added seven new players to their practice roster Monday, including a number of big names.

Leading the way is veteran defensive back/linebacker Keon Raymond, who was cut by the rival Toronto Argonauts earlier this season. Raymond had 34 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack in eight games from his linebacker before being a surprise cut by the Argonauts in August.

The 33-year-old spent eight seasons with the Calgary Stampeders before signing with the Argos, and has 357 tackles, 26 interceptions, and 11 sacks in 130 career games.

Capicciotti was a big ticket free agent after a 12-sack season with the Ottawa Redblacks last year. Through 14 games with the Roughriders, the national defensive end's sack total is at two.

Fulton is a five-year CFL veteran, all with the Roughriders.

Two other players with CFL experience were added in running back Kendial Lawrence and defensive back Derrius Brooks. Lawrence and Brooks were each with the Saskatchewan Roughriders this year. The 25-year-old Lawrence had 150 yards and a touchdown on the ground in 11 games with the Roughriders. Brooks' time in Saskatchewan was short but the 28-year-old is more known for his two years with the Stampeders (2012-2013), where he had 50 tackles and five interceptions in 20 games, that earned him a shot in the NFL.

Rounding out the Ticats' additions are defensive back Cheshawn Page, who attended training camp with the Ticats and impressed before getting hurt; linebacker Matt Wells, and defensive end Denzell Perine.

The Ticats also officailly signed receiver Kevin Elliott, after it was reported last week the team and player were close to a deal.

Elliott was released by the Ticats East Division rival Argonauts earlier this week, alongside Tori Gurley, who officially signed with the Edmonton Eskimos earlier Thursday, Vidal Hazelton, and Phil Bates.

Elliott has 23 receptions for 294 yards and two touchdowns in eight games this season. For his career, the 27-year-old Florida A&M product has 73 receptions for 936 yards and 10 touchdowns in 24 games.

With Chad Owens expected to miss the remainder of the season - also reported by Edwards - Elliott could find plenty of work in the Ticats' receiving corps.
