Once he’s fully recovered from his knee injury, Zach Collaros will be in charge of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ offence for years to come.

The Tiger-Cats announced they’ve signed Collaros to a contract extension through the 2018 season.

The three-year deal is worth a total of $1.5 million, according to TSN's Matthew Scianitti.

Collaros was on his way to a Most Outstanding Player season last year before injuring his knee and missing the last six games of the regular season. That same injury will force Collaros to miss the start of the regular season.

Collaros had 3,376 passing yards and 25 touchdowns to eight interceptions.
