Augusta, GA - Four-time Masters champion Tiger Woods carded a 3-under 69 on Friday at Augusta National.

The 14-time major champion finished 36 holes at 2-under-par 142. It marked the first time since the 2014 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational that Woods finished two rounds under-par. Of course, it was also just the third time since the Bridgestone that Woods completed 36 holes in that time.

"It was a solid day, I gave myself plenty of looks out there. Again, I struggled with the pace of the greens, being a little slower than I thought they would be," Woods admitted. "Overall, I made some good par putts to keep my round together."

Woods carded his first round in the 60s at the Masters since the final round in 2011.

He got off to a quick start with a 15-foot birdie effort on the first. After four pars in a row, Woods' tee shot at the sixth went over the green.

That led to a bogey, which dropped Woods back to plus-1 for the tournament. He came right back with a 27-foot birdie putt at the seventh.

Woods made it two in a row as he got up and down for birdie from just short of the green at the par-5 eighth. That moved him into red figures for the first time this week.

Around the turn, Woods birdied the 11th from 15 feet out to move to minus-2. That was just one of four birdies to that point in the day at the 11th.

Woods parred the final seven holes, and there were some big saves in that stretch. He got up and down for par from right of the 16th green, then ran in a 14-foot, par-saving putt at 17.

At the 18th, Woods had his best chance for birdie over the final seven holes as he dropped his approach shot 15 feet from the hole. He failed to convert, but tapped in for his par.
